Home Blood Pressure Monitoring

It is increasingly thought that blood pressure measured at home can give us more useful information than that measured in surgery.

Occasionally a person's blood pressure can be artificially high when taken within a surgery or hospital setting, perhaps due to 'the stress' of having it measured - so called white-coat hypertension.

Your doctor or nurse may advise you to measure your blood pressure at home for one week and record the readings on a home blood pressure monitor form.  A blood pressure monitor can be collected from reception. Please return them promptly after use so that we can ensure we have sufficient supply for all our patients.
